I read them in your voice.

Heat pressed linen
6 ft. X 4 ft.
This work was created using hand drawn copies of letter written to me from my grandfather. The embellishments are copies of designs that make up the box the letters are kept in. The size and orientation of the work invites the viewer to become enveloped in the letters as I would feel as I read them.
An in action shot of the installation.
Did you hang the painting I made you?

To take you with me
December 2019
Heat pressed Handkerchiefs
5 in. x 5 in.
To take you with me was created with drawings of photographs me and my grandfather as well as copies of his handwritten letters to me. These prints were done on hankies, with the intent of them being used as functional objects for us to carry with each other.
Mended
August 2018
Baby blanket mended with ticking and thread
4 ft. x 2ft.
Mended was created taking my baby blanket and patching the holes with ticking fabric. One that was used around my home often as a child by my mother. I also created new top stitching patters in the shapes of flowers my mother loves as a way to continue holding the blanket together.
